Draft:Śrīkaṇṭhācārya Śivācārya

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Śrīkaṇṭhācārya Śivācārya is a composer of the Sivadvaita Bhashya for the Brahma Sutras.

He is dated variously from the 9th to 13th centuries

There is a reference in the edition of Kasivasi Sri Senthinatha Iyer that Neelakandasivacharya was an early Saiva Brahmin from Thondai Nadu in Tamil Nadu and that his idol is in the Vada Thirumullaivaayil Shiva temple in Thondai Mandal and that a Guru Poosai is performed for him here on the day of Avani Matam Poosa. Some believe that since he was not an early Saiva Brahmin from Tamil Nadu, ideological Saiva ideas are prevalent in his poems.[1]
