Diane Ketelle

Diane Ketelle is an educator, author, and researcher. She currently serves as a Dean's Executive Professor of Education at Santa Clara University..[1] Previously, she held the Robert and Ann Wert Chair at Mills College in Oakland, California[2]

At Mills College, Ketelle directed the administrative credential and master’s degree programs in the School of Education. She also serves as a Dean’s Executive Professor of Education at Santa Clara University.[3]

Research and publications

Ketelle's research centers on storytelling, leadership, and narrative inquiry in education. Her scholarly contributions include:

  • What Is Storytelling in the Higher Education Classroom? (2018) – Published in Storytelling, Self, Society, this study explores storytelling as a pedagogical strategy to enhance student engagement and learning.[4]
  • The Ground They Walk On: Photography and Narrative Inquiry (2010) – Published in The Qualitative Report, this article examines the use of photo-elicitation as an innovative method in social science research.[5]

She is also the author of the book Tread Lightly, Lead Boldly: The Importance of Self-Awareness, Listening, and Learning in School Leadership Success.[6][7]
