Dee Brestin

Dee Brestin is an American Christian author and speaker.

Early life

Born in 1944, Brestin grew up in Wisconsin. She attended Northwestern University and Covenant Seminary.[1][2]

Writing

Brestin wrote Proverbs and Parables, a Bible study guide for the residents wives group which she had started at her husband's medical school. It was accepted for publication and her editor suggested that she write something longer, which resulted in The Friendships of Women in 1988, selling over 1 million copies.[3][4][2][1]

She went on to write other books, which included Falling in Love with Jesus (2002, co-authored with Kathy Troccoli) and Idol Lies (2012). She also wrote other Bible study guides, four of which were co-authored by her husband, Steve Brestin, who died of cancer in 2004.[5][6]

Brestin is involved in prison ministries and a home church plant.

She has five children and fifteen grandchildren.

She speaks at women's conferences and is a frequent guest on Moody Radio and Focus on the Family.[7][4]
