Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze (Japanese: 帝乃三姉妹は案外、チョロい。, Hepburn: Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi; lit. 'The Three Mikadono Sisters Are Surprisingly Easy') is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Aya Hirakawa [ja]. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday since December 2021. An anime television series adaptation produced by P.A. Works premiered in July 2025.

Plot

Yuu Ayase is a high schooler who struggles to live up to the legacy of his late mother, an actress. Some time after his mother's death, Yuu is taken in by the wealthy Mikadono family and starts living with three talented sisters: The rookie actress Kazuki, the rising martial artist Niko, and the shogi prodigy Miwa. As the four spend time together as a family, the three sisters warm up to Yuu and develop romantic feelings for him.

Yuu Ayase (綾世 優, Ayase Yū)

A second-year high school student at Saika Academy. He grew up in a single-parent household and never knew his father. After the death of his mother, the famous actress Subaru Ayase, he was taken under the care of her close friends, the Mikadono family. Unlike his mother, he is talentless, unskilled, and ordinary, with the only thing inherited from her being his good looks. However, he is very mentally strong against those who expect more of him because of his family background. He is good at housework, mainly cleaning and cooking. In terms of love, he is very prudish.
Kazuki Mikadono (帝乃 一輝, Mikadono Kazuki)
Voiced by: Yurina Amami [ja][4]
The boyish-looking oldest daughter of the Mikadono family. She attends Saika Academy with her other two sisters, with each sister excelling in their respective department. She is an up-and-coming actress prodigy who is a performing arts student and the star of a popular musical ensemble. She is gifted in her art with an overwhelmingly flamboyant personality and an enormous amount of pride.
Niko Mikadono (帝乃 二琥, Mikadono Niko)
Voiced by: Aoi Koga[5]
The middle daughter of the family, who is the top of the academy's athletic department. She is a martial artist who has won multiple championships in various martial arts competitions. She composes herself strictly and is serious about herself. She is interested in cute clothes and accessories, but avoids them because she thinks they do not suit her.
Miwa Mikadono (帝乃 三和, Mikadono Miwa)
Voiced by: Yoshino Aoyama[6]
The youngest daughter, who is the top of the academy's academics department. She is a talented professional player who has won numerous shogi, Go, and chess tournaments, as well as an international math contest. She is a genius in literature who excels in all aspects of her studies and boasts an IQ of over 180. She is also a bit mean-spirited.

Written and illustrated by Aya Hirakawa [ja], Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze started in Shogakukan's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday on December 22, 2021.[8][9] Shogakukan has collected its chapters into individual tankōbon volumes. The first volume was released on March 17, 2022.[10] As of July 4, 2025, fifteen volumes have been released.[11]

In June 2025, AI localization company Orange Inc. started publishing the series digitally in English, with its first two volumes available on its e-bookstore service Emaqi.[12]

Anime

In July 2024, it was announced that the manga would receive an anime television series adaptation produced by Aniplex.[27][28] It will be animated by P.A. Works and directed by Tadahito Matsubayashi, with series composition by Takayo Ikami [ja], character designs by Yūsuke Inoue, and music composed by Masaru Yokoyama. The series premiered on July 10, 2025, on Tokyo MX and other networks.[29][a] The opening theme song, "Kimi ni Fusawashii Kiseki" (君にふさわしい奇跡; 'A Miracle Fitting for You'), is performed by Maisondes [ja].[7] Crunchyroll will stream the series.[30]

Yu enrolls at Saika Academy for Gifted Students, exciting many as his mother was the deceased, legendary actress Subaru Ayase. Unfortunately, Yu is ungifted, below average at everything and has gotten used to other people's disappointment. He is confronted by the top students of performing arts, athletics and academics; the Mikadono sisters Kazuki the actress, Niko the athlete and Miwa the genius who mock him. Yu regrets distancing himself from his mother due to feeling inferior and only reconnecting with her in the weeks before she died. Having been taken in by his mother's old friend Yu moves into the man's house only to be confronted by the sisters, the man's daughters who resent him moving in. Yu notices at home the sisters are quite slovenly, so he takes over all household chores, which he appears highly skilled at. He notices the sisters focus entirely on their own interests, reminding him of the distance between himself and his mother. Before they leave he makes sure to tell them to have a good day. Outwardly this annoys them, but each sister is shown to have liked hearing it. Yu receives a call from Mr Mikadono that he is unable to visit for some time so he wants Yu to look after the girls. He also claims that despite their genius there will be times when his daughters will need Yu's support.
2"Her Secret"

Mr Mikadono explains Kazuki has an audition approaching, Niko is competing to be karate champion and Miwa is competing to be Shogi champion. Yu decides to start having family dinners, so he makes three different meals tailored to the girls; nutrition for Niko, mental energy for Miwa and healthy skin for Kazuki. Niko and Miwa both sit for dinner, but Kazuki rejects the meal. Yu confronts Kazuki at school but his poor word choice causes people to think he is talking about sex. He goes to Miwa for advice and realizes her genius makes her popular but unable to make friends. Yu manages to relate to this, so she advises him Kazuki once asked their mother to make a unique meal just for her. Kazuki develops fever but keeps rejecting Yu's recovery food. Yu offers to be her rehearsal partner while she is sick, but she throws him out when he turns out to have none of his mother's acting ability. After four days Kazuki realizes Yu rehearses every day trying to help her, so next time she decides not to throw him out. Somehow, he manages to recite his lines perfectly, making him cry at how proud his mother might have been. Kazuki admits there is nothing wrong with his food; she is just an incredibly picky eater.
3"I Want Us to Be a Family"

Kazuki starts attending meals. Yu watches a drama his mother starred in, trying to learn about families and explains he is trying to become the sister's new family. This causes them to think Yu intends to marry them. The rest of the evening all three have interactions with Yu that make them blush, making them realize they all have crushes on him. Yu finds a photo of them as children at a festival, but none of the sisters admit it is theirs. The sisters are scheduled to be gone all weekend so Yu, knowing they will have forgotten, books hotels for them. Miwa goes to her hotel and finds Kazuki and Niko both there. Yu appears, having learned their activities were all in the same city, whereas they never realized. As such, he made sure they could attend the festival again, which coincidentally, is near the hotel. At first they refuse, until Yu points out the festival is being attended by actresses, martial artists and shogi masters there for their various competitions the next morning. Yu takes them to rent yukata. Niko, having been called a tomboy all her life, almost picks a masculine design, but when Yu calls her cute she is inspired to try a cherry blossom design. Her sisters are amazed that when dressed properly Niko is beautiful.

By July 2024, the manga had over 1 million copies in circulation.[32] By June 2025, it had over 1.5 million copies in circulation.[33]

The series was nominated for the Next Manga Award in the print category in 2022,[34] and ranked 15th;[35][36] it ranked eighth in the 2023 edition in the same category.[37] The series also ranked second in the Nationwide Publishers' Recommended Comics of 2023.[38]
