Danish Pratap Sood is an Indian actor and musician known for his work in Hindi web series and independent music. He is best known for his roles in Netflix’s CAT (2022), Disney+ Hotstar’s The Fame Game (2022), and Amazon miniTV’s Naam Namak Nishan (2024), as well as his contributions as a singer-songwriter to shows such as Mismatched Season 2.[1][2][3]
Early life and education
[edit]Sood was born and raised in Delhi, India.[2]He studied economics and performing arts, completing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and later earned a diploma in film-making from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.[4]
Career

[edit]Sood made his web series debut in 2020 with a small role in Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy and appeared in Hostages 2 as a CBI officer.[1] He went on to appear in Jugaadistan (2022) and Disney+ Hotstar’s The Fame Game (2022), where he played a gay character that drew critical appreciation for its sensitivity.[5][6]
In 2022, Sood portrayed Sarabjit "Sunny" Singh, the younger brother of Randeep Hooda’s character, in Netflix’s crime drama CAT, earning attention for his performance as a troubled youth.[1][7]
In 2024, he starred as Gurbaaz Singh Kahlon, a national-level skeet shooter cadet, in Amazon miniTV’s military drama Naam Namak Nishan.[8] To prepare for the role, he trained with Olympian Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and international shooter Shriyanka Sadangi.[2][9]
Music
[edit]Alongside acting, Sood is a singer-songwriter working across genres such as neo-soul, contemporary R&B, and smooth jazz. He wrote and performed “Jaanu Na” for Netflix’s Mismatched Season 2 and contributed the track “Kyaa Karun” to Amazon Prime Video’s Call Me Bae.[1] He has also released singles including “Slow Down” and “Saza”.[10]
