Damir Karakaš

Damir Karakaš (born 1967 in Plašćica near Brinje, Croatia[1]) is a Croatian writer.[1] He has worked as a journalist for the Croatian newspaper Večernji list. He has participated in the Croatian War of Independence.[2] His notable works include novels Sjećanje šume (2016), Proslava (2019), Okretište (2021) and Potop (2023).[1] His novel Celebration was included in World Literature Today's 75 Notable Translations of 2024.[3] The same novel was included in the list of best books of the 2024 by the literary magazine The Paris Review.[4]
