Christina Anthony is an American actress and comedian best known for playing Denise Johnson in Mixed-ish.[1][2]

Early life

Anthony was born in Chicago. Before she got famous she acted in The Second City, the ETA Creative Arts Foundation and the Black Ensemble Theater. Her favourite memories of growing up in Chicago was JJ Fish and Chicken and hanging out in lounges on Stony Island Avenue[3]

Career

Anthonys first tv role was a one of appearance in the medical drama ER.[4] before getting her first recurring role as Dr Jolly in the comedy series Dog Moms.[5] Anthony almost didn't get the part in Mixed-ish due to admitting her heart was not in it. She had not worked since 2011, went through a divorce and was working a customer service job while going to auditions.[6] Since Mixed-ish has ended Anthony has appeared in The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.[7] and Chicago's Party Aunt.[8] Anthony was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for Actress in a Revue for her performance in the revue, "The Absolute Best Friggin Time of Your Life," at the Second City Theatre e.t.c. in Chicago, Illinois.[9]

Anthony has been married for the last 6 years[10] She has been living in Los Angeles since 2011 since starring in Jordan Peeles I said Bitch.[11]
