Christian Rebernik is a Berlin-based Austrian entrepreneur, technologist, and educator. He is the co-founder and co-CEO of Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences, a remote university based in Germany founded in 2020. Beginning his career in Austria and later settling in Germany, Rebernik previously served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at multiple European companies, including Bwin, N26, Parship, and Zanox. He is also the founder of Vivy, a digital health assistant, and 6VOICES, a startup developing a voice-based meeting assistant.[1][2]

Rebernik was born in Vienna, Austria. He began his studies in economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 1997 but later shifted his focus to computer science and communication systems at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 2007. He went on to complete a master’s degree in business informatics from the same institution in 2009.[1]

Career

In 1997, at Vienna University, Rebernik co-founded a web development company, Iphos. He led the company until 2001, after which it was sold. Rebernik continued to support the business as an advisor until 2009.[3] Rebernik held leadership roles in technology and product development across multiple sectors. Between 2001 and 2010, Rebernik worked at Bwin, where he began as a software developer and later advanced to lead the development department.[4]

Between 2011 and 2012, he served as Chief Technology Officer at the online dating platform Parship and later at the performance marketing network Zanox.[5] From 2015, he was CTO at the fintech company N26, where he led the development of its mobile-first banking platform until 2017.[1]

In 2017, Rebernik founded Vivy, a digital health assistant designed to provide users with secure access to their personal medical records. The platform was launched with backing from key industry stakeholders, including Allianz and former German health officials.[2] He also founded 6VOICES, a startup focused on developing a voice-based smart meeting assistant.[3]

In 2020, Rebernik co-founded Tomorrow University with Thomas Funke. The institution received state accreditation in Germany and offers remote-first degree programs in areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainable technologies, and entrepreneurship. The university’s educational model emphasizes challenge-based learning, sustainability, lifelong learning, and AI-supported personalization.[6] In 2024, Tomorrow University was ranked first in Germany and 25th worldwide in the Leadership category of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI).[7]

Rebernik has written and spoken on education, workforce transformation, and AI. In interviews with Poets & Quants, the Financial Times, and Workplace Insight, he supported integrating AI into sectors like healthcare, climate change, and cybersecurity, and highlighted the need for human-centered approaches guided by emotional intelligence and ethics.[6][8]

In response to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, Rebernik advocated for micro-credentials, flexible learning models, and the role of higher education in preparing for rapid technological and societal changes.[9]
