Plot
[edit]With Big Coffee sold, Gloria out of a job, and the Greens' neighborhood and house right in the crosshairs of Wholesome Foods CEO Chip Whistler,[a] the Greens - sans Nancy, who had just arrived - are in a state of panic. Their fears are confirmed when Chip razes the apartment block and the Big Coffee building, intending to build a massive Wholesome Foods Mega-Store right in its place; with the Greens' house serving as its parking lot. One week after the Mega-Store's construction and grand opening, the Greens have had enough, with the kids' Gramma Alice beginning a turf war between them and Wholesome Foods. However, they encounter Gloria, who was forced to take up a job with Wholesome Foods after Big Coffee was shuttered. Gloria sends the Greens away, having had enough of their conflict with Chip.
Despite the family's resillience against external threats in the past, Bill deems this a no-win situation: Chip would end up winning, no matter what they do. Nancy decides to take the kids to the office of the mayor, Hansock, who is revealed to have been influenced by a public vote regarding the destruction of the Greens' house. Nancy takes a tablet containing the votes, but is apprehended by the police. Bill, who is disappointed by the turn of events, affirms that there will not be any more conflict against Wholesome Foods. When the kids return home, they find out that many of the Greens' friends had signed the petition. The next day, Cricket interrogates Remy for answers; he did not sign any petition, and they find out the poll is faked. The kids, Remy and bodyguard Vasquez tell Nancy about their revelation; later that night, a group of wrecking crews arrive at the house, intending to demolish it.
The kids formulate a plan: Cricket and Remy will infiltrate the Mega-Store to get the evidence that Chip forged the poll, and Gramma and Tilly will buy them time. Chip's wrecking crew begins to tear down the house as Cricket and Remy begin their infiltration. They encounter Gloria once more; while she is initially hesitant to help them, Cricket is able to convince her to help him and Remy get into Chip's office. Meanwhile, the wrecking crew breaches the Greens' first line of defense, so Gramma and Tilly are forced to pick them off by means of bow and corncobs, later being joined by Vasquez. While Gramma and Vasquez battle the crew, Tilly tells Bill that the reason why the Greens had survived for many generations was because they stood up against a bigger opposition, which is broadcast across Big City.
Cricket and Remy reach Chip's office and are able to obtain the evidence, while Bill joins the fight, now determined to protect the family legacy. Chip enters the Mega-Store and catches Cricket and Remy in the act, but Remy distracts Chip and his two goons as Cricket takes the vents to the roof of the Mega-Store. Nancy, now freed from jail, officer Keys, and Hansock arrive at the scene just as the wrecking crew begins to tear the house down. Cricket begins to reveal the evidence of forgery, but Chip's helicopter tears the papers to shreds. The residents of Big City arrive, wanting the house and the Greens to stay, but Chip, having had enough and having reached a point of insanity, decides to try to murder Cricket and the Greens. However, Chip is stopped just inches away from the Greens by two electric poles, which sling him away into the distance.[b]
With Chip gone, the Wholesome Foods Mega-Store is demolished, with the Big Coffee building and the apartment block restored, and Gloria, who has lost her job, decides to make herself at home at the Greens' house.
