Cashmere Lavon Small (born March 31, 1998), known professionally as Cash Cobain, is an American rapper and record producer. As a vocalist, he has collaborated with several mainstream artists such as Ice Spice, Nav, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Don Toliver, Charlie Wilson, and J. Cole, among others, where he also served as a producer.
Life and career
[edit]Cashmere Lavon Small was born in the Bronx, New York City, on March 31, 1998. He first started making beats at a young age in his grandmother's house in New York in forest projects. Being inspired by drill and trap music, he taught himself how to make beats by using the software FL Studio and his mother used to buy him some equipment to help him in his work.[1]
He is widely known for his producer tag, "And this beat from Cash, not from YouTube", voiced by rapper Big Yaya.[2] On August 23, 2024, Small released his debut studio album, Play Cash Cobain, to positive critical reception.[3]
Personal life
[edit]Small supported Jamaal Bowman in the 2024 District 16 United States House of Representatives election.[4]
