Early life

[edit]

Caroline Alice Stanbury[2][3][4] was born in Hammersmith, Greater London, England, on 28 April 1976,[5] as the eldest child to Anthony David Stanbury,[6][7][8] a managing director at Jaeger,[9] and his wife, Elizabeth Alice (née Beale), a socialite who was born into the Vestey family. She has three siblings: Alexander George Basil "Alex" Stanbury, a banker and financier,[10][11][12][13][14][15] Edward Samuel Joseph "Ed" Stanbury, a builder and businessman,[16][17] and Victoria Elizabeth S Tejera (née Stanbury).[18][19]

Stanbury attended Westonbirt School in Tetbury, [Gloucestershire, followed by King's College London.[20]

Career

[edit]

Stanbury started her professional career in March 1999. She launched her own clothes line in 2002.[21] She launched the Gift Library in 2008. The company was a store that sold luxury, "swanky" gifts. She was later forced to close down the Gift Library and the company was subsequently sold to Amara.com.[22]

Stanbury rose to prominence as an original main cast member on the Bravo (U.S.) reality television series Ladies of London.[23][24] The series chronicled the lives of six women who lived in London, as they balanced their social lives, businesses and families. The first series premiered on 2 June 2014,[25] with Juliet Angus, Caprice Bourret, Marissa Hermer, Annabelle Neilson, and Noelle Reno, while Luke Henderson, her friend and makeup artist,[26] served as a recurring cast member.[27][28] The finale episode was broadcast on 21 July 2014.[29][30] In March 2015, the network renewed the show for a second series. She returned to the main cast. The second series premiered on 7 September 2015,[31] with Angus, Hermer, Caroline Fleming, and Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke, while Sophie Stanbury, her sister-in-law, served as a recurring cast member.[32] The finale episode was broadcast on 9 November 2015.[33] In April 2016, the network renewed the show for a third series. She returned to the main cast. The third series premiered on 29 November 2016,[34] with Angus, Hermer, Fleming, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke, and Sophie Stanbury, while Kim Johnson, Caroline F's friend, and Adela King, her friend, served as recurring cast members.[35] The finale episode was broadcast on 7 February 2017.[36][37] She appeared in every episode.[38]

Stanbury launched her furniture line with ECmyLIFE in January 2017.[39]

Stanbury is an original main cast member on the Bravo reality television series The Real Housewives of Dubai, the network's first original international installment in The Real Housewives franchise.[23][40][41] The first series premiered on 1 June 2022,[42] with Nina Ali, Sara Al Madani, Chanel Ayan, Caroline Brooks, and Lesa Milan, while Phaedra Parks from The Real Housewives of Atlanta served as a recurring guest cast member.[43][44] Her dog, Coco, was the breakout star of the debut episode.[45] The finale episode was broadcast on 24 August 2022,[46][47] with the two-part reunion concluding on 7 September 2022.[48][49] She returned to the main cast. The second series premiered on 2 June 2024,[50][51] with Al Madani, Ayan, Brooks, Milan and Taleen Marie Khanoyan, while Saba Yussouf served as a recurring cast member; Ali made guest appearances.[52][53][54] The finale episode was broadcast on 3 September 2024,[55] with the two-part reunion concluding on 17 September 2024.[56][57][58] In November 2024, the network placed the show on hiatus.[59]

Stanbury launched her podcast, Divorced Not Dead, in 2020.[60]

In March 2024, Stanbury signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).[61]

Stanbury and her second husband, Sergio Carrello, are set to open a "boutique-y hotel" in Bali, called Samsara List. The hotel is slated to open in 2026.[62]

Personal life

[edit]

Stanbury married her first husband, Cem Habib,[63][64] a Turkish financier,[65] in Westminster, Greater London, on 21 May 2004, when she was 28 years old. The wedding reception was attended by 150 people. Her hen do was organised by the German actress Diane Kruger. Prior to their marriage, she converted to her husband's Jewish faith. Later, they had a second wedding ceremony at the Çırağan Palace in Istanbul. This wedding reception was attended by 800 people. The couple purchased their marital home in Chelsea, London.[66][67] Her legal name became Caroline Alice Habib.[68] They have three children together: a daughter, Yasmin, and twin sons, Zack and Aaron.[69] Her family lived on the Wentworth Estate in Surrey. On Boxing Day 2019, she announced that the couple had separated after 17 years of marriage.[70] Their divorce was finalised in January 2020.[71][72] The former couple have remained friends and co-parent their children together.[73]

Stanbury was a sister-in-law of Sophie Stanbury (née Mead-Briggs), who also appeared on Ladies of London. Sophie was married to Stanbury's brother, Alex, between 2007 and 2017; they have two sons together, Harry and Finn.[74][75][76][77]

In August 2016, Stanbury announced her plans to move to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[78] That November, she gave BravoTV.com a tour of her first home in the West Asian country.[79]

Stanbury made her relationship with Sergio José Carrallo Pendás, a Spanish footballer[80] who is 18 years her junior,[81] public via Instagram in July 2020.[82] They got engaged in January 2021.[83][84] She legally married her second husband in Mauritius on 18 December 2021, due to the UAE not recognising interfaith weddings; however, this law changed around the same time, so they held their wedding in Dubai.[85][86][87][88][89] Carrallo's father offered him money to leave her.[90][91] After unsuccessfully attempting IVF, they have one viable embryo, which they refer to as "baby boy on ice".[92] She has said she thinks they will split in 10 to 15 years.[93]

In 2023, Stanbury revealed her latest facelift.[94][95] In 2024, she spoke publicly about her use of Ozempic.[96][97][98] In 2025, she was hospitalised and diagnosed as suffering from orbital cellulitis.[99]

Stanbury previously dated Prince Andrew, Duke of York, a birth member of the British royal family, second son to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and elder of King Charles III's younger brothers.[100][101]
