Best Medicine is an upcoming American medical comedy drama television series on Fox based on the 2004–2022 ITV series Doc Martin created by Dominic Minghella.
Premise
[edit]A doctor moves from the city of Boston, Massachusetts to a small practise in an east-coast fishing village to which he would holiday as a child.[1]

Production

[edit]On March 5, 2025, American adaptation of Doc Martin from writer Liz Tuccillo was announced by Fox.[2] On May 9, 2025,Best Medicine is owned and produced by Fox Entertainment along with Propagate Content and received a series order from Fox in May 2025. All3Media International owns the Doc Martin format. The series is written by Liz Tuccillo. Propagate's Ben Silverman is an executive producer with Rodney Ferrell, Tuccillo and Doc Martin executive producers Mark Crowdy and Philippa Braithwaite. The cast is led by Josh Charles as Dr. Martin Best.[3][1] In July 2025, Abigail Spencer, Josh Segarra, and Annie Potts joined the main cast.[4][5][6]
Filming is scheduled for summer 2025 in up-state New York.[7]
Broadcast
