Beijing No.4 High School is a public secondary school in Xicheng, Beijing, China.[1] Founded in 1906, it is one of the oldest key schools in Beijing.[2] The school is often considered a "Super High School"[3], with students regularly score the highest average in Gaokao in Beijing,[4] and its international program ranked one of the best in China, based on multiple rankings.[5][6][7]
History
[edit]The school's predecessor was built in 1907 and was originally named "Shuntian Middle School." In 1949, it was renamed "Beijing No. 4 High School." In 2005, it merged with Beihai Secondary School and resumed junior high school enrollment.[citation needed]
In 2008, some teachers from Ethnicity Unity Secondary School were merged into the school. The school merged with Beijing No. 63 Secondary School in 2015.
The school currently has four campuses: high school, junior high school, Guangzhou Guangwai campus, and Fuxingmen international campus.[8][9]
