Avinaash V. Rai is an Indian film and theatre producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.[1][2][3] He is known for his work in the Indian entertainment industry, particularly for his productions in Hindi and Kannada cinema.[4][5] Rai is also involved in hospitality ventures and social initiatives related to healthcare access.[6]

Early life and education

Rai was born in Mangalore, Karnataka.[2] He completed his early education in Mangalore and later earned a law degree from S.D.M. Law College.[6] He was influenced by his family background; his father served in the Indian Army and his mother was a homemaker.[6]

Career

Rai entered the Hindi film industry in 2016 as a producer of Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, a romantic drama featuring Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal.[7] In 2025, he produced the Kannada-language film Venkya, directed by Sagar Puranik.[8] The film received recognition at film festivals such as the Goa International Film Festival and was selected for the 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival.[9] Apart from this, Rai contributed in theatre, producing a range of plays including The Book of Passing Shadows, Handicapped City, Sakharam Binder, Ashwamedh, and Birpurush.[1]

Social initiatives

Rai serves as a director of the R.K. HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, an organization involved in large-scale public health initiatives in India.[10] Under his involvement, the organization has conducted thousands of medical camps and surgeries, aiming to expand access to healthcare in underserved communities.[11]
