Anton Valerievich Lobanov (ru: Антон Валерьевич Лобанов; born July 20, 1978) is a Russian chemist, teacher, expert in the field of physical and supramolecular chemistry, Grand PhD in Chemical sciences (2018), Professor of the Russian Academy of Education (2023), Head of the Department of General Chemistry at the Institute of Biology and Chemistry of the Moscow State Pedagogical University.

Biography

Origin and early years

Born on July 20, 1978 in Moscow. Father, Valery Lobanov (born in 1946), is a designer by profession. Mother, Galina Lobanova (born in 1952), is an economist[1].

Graduated from Moscow Secondary School No. 674 in 1995. In 1999, he graduated with honors from the Bachelor's degree, and in 2001 with honors from the Master's degree at the Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology named after M. V. Lomonosov (MITHT)[2], studied at the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Fine Organic Synthesis of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Organic Synthesis in the direction of "Chemical Technology and Biotechnology".

Scientific and teaching activities

In 2005, at the N. N. Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, she defended her dissertation for the degree of candidate of economic sciences on the topic of "Photocatalytic processes involving peroxide in the UK in anticipation of and artificial photosynthetic medical technologies"[3]. In 2018, she defended her dissertation for the degree of doctor of economic sciences on the topic of "Molecular aggregation and photochemical properties of tetrapyrroles in multicomponent media"[4].

From 2005 to 2010, he was a senior employee of the Department of Chemical Kinetics of the Faculty of Chemistry of the Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosov. From 2010 to 2015 - Deputy Head of the Department of Photochemistry of Biological Active Actions at the Moscow State Academy of Heavy Chemical Technologies named after M.V. Lomonosov (MITHT).

He worked his way up from an engineer to a chief researcher at the N. N. Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics, where he headed the photobionics laboratory from 2017 to 2019, and was a chief researcher from 2019 to 2024. From 2015 to 2024, he held the position of leading researcher at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. Since 2019, he has held the position of leading researcher at the N. M. Emanuel Institute of Biochemical Physics. In 2018, he took the position of professor in the Department of General Chemistry at Moscow State Pedagogical University, and in 2023 he was appointed to the position of head of the department.

In 2023, he was awarded the academic title of professor of the Russian Academy of Education (Department of General Secondary Education)[5].

Among the main scientific achievements are the development of a new scientific direction in the physical chemistry of tetrapyrrole compounds - control of the photochemical properties of tetrapyrroles at the supramolecular level, conducting research on the study of the mechanism of photosynthesis, supramolecular systems based on chlorophyll, metalloporphyrins and phthalocyanines, new methods of chemical monitoring and methods of treatment and prevention of socially significant diseases, approaches to the design of the content of chemical education.

Member of the Russian Chemical Society named after D. I. Mendeleyev, member of the Russian Photobiological Society, member of the Federation of European Societies of Plant Biologists (FESPB), member of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers of Chemistry, member of the Russian Professorial Assembly.

In 2023, he was included by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in the dissertation council 33.2.013.10 based on the Moscow State Pedagogical University (represents the scientific specialty 5.8.2. Theory and methods of teaching and upbringing (natural sciences, levels of secondary general and secondary vocational education) (pedagogical sciences))[6].

In 2024, he joined the recently created Scientific Council for the Development of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Education of the Russian Academy of Education.

Research interests: physical and supramolecular chemistry, chemical safety, integration and adaptive processes in natural science education, training of teaching staff.

He is the author of more than 320 scientific papers, including 24 patents.

He is a popularizer of science. A regular guest of the program "Open School" on the radio station "Vesti FM" All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
