Alicia Vaichunas is an American politician and the Republican nominee in the 2025 New York City Council election for the 30th district, which represents the Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, Rego Park, and Elmhurst neighborhoods of Queens.[1][2]
Early life
[edit]Vaichunas was raised in Queens.[3]
Career
[edit]Vaichunas served as deputy chief of staff to Council Member Bob Holden for over seven years.[2] In January 2025, she announced her intent to run for Holden's term-limited position in that year's City Council election, with Holden's support.[4] She was unopposed during the primary election with the unanimous endorsement of the Queens County Republican Party.[2]
