Alex Sino
Alex Sino is a doctor,[1] Latin jazz producer and writer[2][3] who was born in 1957.
Early life and education
[edit]Sino received a formal education in New York University. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Medical Science (PhD). After September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, he was appointed by the City of New York to be in charge of the Emergency Department of Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.[4]
Career
[edit]In his career Sino wrote lyrics, scripts and produced acclaimed and awards-winning records[5][6] and videos. Among them are Cosmopolitan Life[7] featuring Al Di Meola and Leonid Agutin, "La Vida Cosmopolita" [8] featuring Jon Secada, Luis Enrique (singer) and Amaury, Vocal Rendezvous[9] featuring Al Di Meola and Macy Gray, and Made in Miami featuring Arturo Sandoval, Richard Bravo and Milton Salcedo.
Books
[edit]Alex Sino wrote several books and among them are "The Grand Old Man" and the book about music business, "The Limitless Music".[10][11]
Awards and recognition
[edit]As a songwriter, Sino was the winner of 2023 John Lennon Songwriting Contest,[12][13] and the winner of 2020 the USA Songwriting Competition.[14] Alex Sino has earned two Latin Grammy Awards[15] as the producer of the album "Made in Miami" [16][17] and for Best Instrumental Album and Best Arrangement of the "Songo Bop".[18]
In 2021, his music video "Funky Cha" won the Award for the Best Music Video at Nice (of South France) International Film Festival.[19] Sino music video "Funkeando" won the Global Music Award in November 2022.[20]
