On September 11, 2013, Two SEPECAT Jaguars both operated by Royal Air Force of Oman(RAFO) Collided mid air while in a training mission killing one pilot, But there was one pilot who ejected the plane and survived the accident, Making him the sole survivor of the Accident.[1]

First Aircraft

The First Aircraft involved in the accident was a SEPECAT Jaguar B, The SEPECAT Jaguar was originally introduced into service with the Royal Air Force in 1973, A Photograph of a SEPECAT Jaguar was taken on February 6, 2005, operated by the Royal Air Force of Oman, showing the aircraft taxiing at RAFO Thumrait. The aircraft had only one crew member on board, consistent with the SEPECAT Jaguar single-seat configuration.[2]

Second Aircraft

The Second Aircraft involved in the accident was a SEPECAT Jaguar, The second aircraft had only one crew member on board, due to the SEPECAT Jaguar's single-seat configuration. The aircraft was operated by the Royal Air Force of Oman, which only they operated six SEPECAT Jaguar Bs, A photograph of the aircraft was taken circa 2001.

Accident

Both planes were Operated by Royal Air Force of Oman[3] for a training mission in the morning in the Wilayat of Rakhyut the Governorate of Dhofar. Both Planes collided resulting in the death of Flight Lieutenant Al Azhar Bin Humaid Bin Hamad Al Shraiqi, But the other pilot of the other plane survived the accident. The MoD, in a statement to Oman news agency, "mourned the late Flight Lieutenant Al Shraiqi and prayed to Allah the Almighty to bestow His mercy on the deceased and to inspire his family with patience and solace and to Him we return".[4] The collision took place over an unpopulated area in Rakhyut thus there was no damage,[5] injury or causality reported in the ground.[6]

Aftermath

The two planes caught on fire and both crashed in Rakhyut near a house and a big explosion, no ground causality or injury only one dead and one survived due to ejecting, the survivor sustained serious injuries but fortunately survived.
