Wendy Alexander

The 2007 Scottish Labour Party leadership election was an internal party election to choose a new leader of the Labour Party in the Scottish Parliament, and was triggered following the resignation of Jack McConnell following the Scottish National Party victory at the 2007 Scottish Parliament election.[1][2]

Wendy Alexander was the only candidate after the two other main contenders, Andy Kerr and Margaret Curran, ruled themselves out.[3]

Immediately after the election, Alexander set out major party reforms.[4]

Later, Wendy Alexander resigned due to issues relating to donations to her leadership campaign.[5]
