Splitting relatively small groups into subgroups in navboxes
[edit]Would anyone like to weigh in at Template talk:Alexander McQueen#Splitting the collections? --woodensuperman 12:39, 10 October 2024 (UTC)
Links to categories
[edit]I was linked to this guideline in the context of a TFD for a navbox (see here) with the implication that categories should not be listed in navboxes (or at least, not the majority of the links - I assume the 'category' at bottom of {{Madonna}}
is acceptable). I've read this guideline before and frankly that wasn't totally clear to me (although one can gather it from the sole usage of 'article' rather than 'page') - perhaps that could be explicitly stated with a bulletpoint somewhere on the page? Disadvantages suggested wording change
[edit]In the disadvantages section I suggest changing
- X "Not shown to readers using the mobile web site, only around 30% of readers view them, which means they still reach tens of millions of people a day." to
- Y "Not shown to readers using the mobile web site, only around 30% of readers can view them."
The section is purportedly talking about disadvantages but somewhere along the way someone seems to have changed the negative to put a strangely positive spin on it with the statement "they still reach tens of millions of people a day" (like as if the they aren't largely ignored by desktop users too and) as if an editor was unwilling to present the negatives in a fair and neutral way. -- 109.77.194.73 (talk) 17:14, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
Non-notable former band members in navboxes

Actors' navboxes
[edit]Per the guideline here regarding primary creators, would any one like to comment on this discussion regarding Aubrey Plaza and a couple of similar navboxes on the same page? --woodensuperman 10:08, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
"add template to favorites"
[edit]This wording has popped up at the top of every navbox, at least on Monobook. Can someone please remove the coding from wherever it came from? Thanks. It is clutter, not needed, and duplicates the existing button to add the navbox to an editor's watchlist. Randy Kryn (talk) 14:11, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
