Proposal: Create article on The Principle of Collaboration and Cooperation (TPOCo)

[edit]

I’ve drafted a new article in my sandbox (User:Darwipli/sandbox/TPOCo) introducing **The Principle of Collaboration and Cooperation (TPOCo)** — an interdisciplinary framework that describes cooperation as an energy‑driven, cyclical process found from cells through societies. It synthesizes decades of peer‑reviewed research (including Tomasello’s seminal sharing experiments) into seven core principles and includes a flowchart visualization.

Why this fits WikiProject Biology:

[edit]
  • TPOCo offers a unifying biological perspective on cooperation across taxa (from symbiosis to animal social behavior).
  • It bridges molecular, organismal, and ecological levels — enriching Wikipedia’s coverage of cooperative evolution, mutualism, and social biology.

What I’m seeking from Biology editors:

[edit]

1. Feedback on structure, scope, and neutrality

2. Identification of missing high‑quality sources or relevant comparative biology research

3. Advice on linking to existing articles (e.g., cooperation, mutualism, social evolution)

4. Volunteers to co‑edit the sandbox draft toward main‑space readiness

Please review the draft here → User:Darwipli/sandbox - Wikipedia and share suggestions below. I welcome any expertise to ensure this becomes a robust, well‑sourced Biology article. — Darwipli (talk) 21:45, 26 March 2025 (UTC) Darwipli (talk) 03:54, 26 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Help illustrate climate change information on Wikipedia and win a signed copy of The Climate Book by Greta Thunberg

[edit]

Dear all

I’m very happy to let you know we are running a competition at Wikiproject Climate Change to encourage people to help improve visual information about climate change including the impact of biodiversity loss etc. The competition is open until the 17th of May for all language versions of Wikipedia. The top three point scorers will each win a signed copy of The Climate Book by Greta Thunberg.

Please let me know if you have any questions

Good article reassessment for Carbon

[edit]

Carbon has been nominated for a good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. Z1720 (talk) 16:42, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed splits from Organ (biology)

[edit]

In searching for a page on the innervation of the pelvic viscera, I found that Organ (biology) is the current redirect for this. Given that this particular innervation is quite complicated and at times fails to respect boundaries between different organ systems (ie, the Pudendal nerve doing absolutely anything it feels like to any tissue in the area) I do think it deserves its own page. At the very least, it should be apparent that the current redirect target does not provide remotely enough information on the subject.

This could notably establish precedent for further page creation of organs based on anatomical location. I do think this is a good idea if it does happen. Further discussion at Talk:Organ (biology)#Proposed splits Just-a-can-of-beans (talk) 19:41, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Project members are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It will be held from Monday June 16 - Sunday July 13. There is $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. There is $500 of prizes going into improving STEM and business-related articles and we want to see a lot of science-related articles destubbed and older stale articles improved. If you are interested in winning some vouchers to help you buy books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for science, sign up if interested.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:42, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
