ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:30, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits at miniseries

[edit]

I have reverted your edit at miniseries as you have not adequately explained why it should be merged with the serial article. Please discuss this on the article's talk page, and tag the article with {{merge}} before merging it. Adam Black talkcontribs 02:06, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have left a comment on the talk page explaining my reasoning. As WP:MERGE says, "No permission or discussion is needed if you think the merge is uncontroversial; just do it". Regional terminology for sub-catagories of television serials do not need their own pages, and the page was in clear violation of WP:NPOV, so the merge should certainly be uncontroversial. If you disagree, please state your argument on the Talk page instead of simply reverting. Thank you. Mtjh (talk) 02:19, 11 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A merge is controversial when another editor reverts it. Please continue the discussion and do not delete the article's content until a consensus is reached. It is likely I will agree with you and support your proposal after I've taken a proper look at both articles, but I disagree with your unilateral move. I note the comment on the talk page (which I didn't initially realise was proposing a merge as it's about an apparent bias) says "This page should be merged", as if you are proposing it but you only waited an hour before going ahead with it.
