Falsehoods in the lemma's introduction

[edit]

In the past months, two evident falsehoods and one irrelevant detail have been added to this lemma's introduction. It now reads:

"When the allegation was made, Allen and Mia Farrow had been in a romantic relationship for 12 years. They had three children together: two adopted, Dylan and Moses, and one biological, Satchel (now known as Ronan Farrow). The sexual abuse is alleged to have taken place eight months after Farrow learned Allen and Soon-Yi Previn, whom Farrow adopted with her former husband André Previn, had begun a sexual relationship three years before she and Allen began to date. Previn was a 21-year-old first-year undergraduate when the sexual relationship began. The two evident falsehoods are as follows.

1. According to the custody trial reports, Woody Allen and Mia Farrow had definitely NOT been in 'a romantic relationship' from 1987 to 1992. Mia Farrow had withdrawn from such relationship during 1987, when pregnant of Ronan Farrow, a child she would later admit is 'possibly not Woody's son' (but Frank Sinatra's). It is undisputed that Woody and Mia were lovers no more post 1987.

2. The 'three years before she and Allen began to date' addition is false. According to the Appellate Court's decision, not challenged by anyone, the intimate or sexual relationship between Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn has started in December 1991, not 'three years' earlier.

The irrelevant fact is as follows.

3. A first-year student is always 'undergraduate'. There are no first-year students who are 'graduate'. The addition 'undergraduate' is superfluous, for whatever reason it was added, and can be removed.

I will await opposition to the above for two weeks. If no serious opposition, I will change the article accordingly. Mcouzijn (talk) 12:44, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Duration of Woody's and Mia's romantic relationship

[edit]

The article's introduction now states that "When the allegation was made, Allen and Mia Farrow had been in a romantic relationship for 12 years".

The custody trial reports make clear that their *romantic* relationship ended by 1987. Of course, they kept on being professional partners, and co-parents of Moses, Dylan, and Satchel/Ronan. But they were obviously lovers-no-more; even when the audience may have perceived them as such.

Not only the custody judges agreed on this, but also Mia's hired child therapist Dr Susan Coates, who gave sworn testimony about Mia having withdrawn from Woody as her lover, and not wanting him to 'bond' with her son Satchel/Ronan (born 1987). Later Mia would admit that Satchel/Ronan is 'possibly not Woody's' (but Sinatra's). Mia even left Woody's name off the birth certificate.

Thus the above statement must be changed. Mia's and Woody's 'romantic relationship' lasted from 1980 to 1987.

If no factual opposition arises to this conclusion, I will make the necessary change two weeks from now. Mcouzijn (talk) 11:41, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This page reads like a publicist's defence of Mr. Allen.

[edit]

There are many misleading statements on this page. The entire narrative is biased in favour of Mr. Allen. Allowing pages like this to stand is exactly what gives Wikipedia a bad name. Frankly, I do not have the energy to correct it as, I know that I will begin a tug-o-war with whomsoever has written the page. I am not prepared for the back and forth.

I realise that this person must actually believe what was/is churned out by the powerful Allen PR machine. I just hope they can live with themselves when they eventually discover the truth. DieselEstate (talk) 08:56, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I am concerned, Wikipedia is about verifiable facts, not about opinions, beliefs or some 'defence'. Mcouzijn (talk) 21:12, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
