In § New Pride Flag, it would be clearer to rephrase the following sentence as the (further) following:
− | Some critics allege that | + | Some critics allege that Quasar's design appropriates aspects of the Puerto Rico Pride flag,
|
Additionally, it may be helpful to add a link to Puerto Rico's flag design as reference (since the aspect of the Puerto Rican Pride flag design, that is alleged to have been appropriated is shared in common with the Puerto Rican flag design, e.g.
Some critics allege that Quasar's design appropriates aspects of the Puerto Rico Pride flag (shared in common with Puerto Rico's Flag),

Partly done: Implemented the language change. I'm not sure linking to the PR flag makes sense. Probably better to add the PR Pride flag to Pride_flag#Location-based_flags. However, this section likely needs some clean up. Not clear that the "New Pride Flag" is really notable and having it before Progress Pride is confusing. I don't have time to address right now, however. meamemg (talk) 20:54, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

Original flag needs editing
[edit]The "yellow" stripe appears black. The colour code probably needs fixing. Humpster (talk) 00:04, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- Which image do you mean? I don't see this. --Belbury (talk) 07:35, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
Notable Variation Criteria
[edit]What is the criteria for inclusion of alternative flag designs? It's odd that the OG 8 stripe Gilbert flag is NOT included but a 9 stripe flag created by Gilbert to protest Trump is. I've personally seen a couple of these flags but I would not consider the rest to be notable. ツ indolering (talk) 10:06, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
- To clarify real quick, because we're stuck with the word WP:NOTABILITY—we use that essentially to mean "does this topic deserve its own article"? When we're talking about what material can be included in an existing article on a given topic, the word (and corresponding policy) we invoke is WP:DUEness—whether it can be given due weight in an article about said topic. Really, my sense here (not to be taken as gospel) is that variant flags need to be attested in multiple reliable sources, and they need to be attested in relation to more than one event or individual of interest—this ties into how Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a newspaper. We write articles for all time (or try to) so an article after a decades' time passes that is populated with individual flashes in the pan with no substance connecting them relevant to the topic—is to be strenuously avoided. The ratchet only really goes one way, though. Once that criterion is cleared, there's little concern about adding any item from years past. Remsense 🌈 论 11:26, 6 July 2025 (UTC)
