The contents of On-hook was merged into On- and off-hook on 9 August 2018. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists. For the discussion at that location, see its talk page.

What resistance would be necessary to take an American phone line "off-hook"? I've read elsewhere that it is 150 ohms.

Merger proposal
