Q1: Why is this article titled "Chinese" New Year?
A1: This article covers celebrations of the Spring Festival in Chinese culture specifically, commonly known in English as the Chinese New Year. Celebrations of the Spring Festival or similar holidays in other cultures are covered in their own articles (e.g. Japanese New Year, Korean New Year, Tết) or more broadly in the article Lunar New Year.
This article is written in American English, which has its own spelling conventions (center, color, defense, realize, traveled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
Chinese New Year was a good article, but it was removed from the list as it no longer met the good article criteria at the time. There are suggestions below for improving the article. If you can improve it, please do; it may then be renominated.
