how do you request a move?

[edit]

Because I think this article would be better as. List of films notable for bad reception. As that is much more objective than List of films considered to be the worst. Domogames1 (talk) 19:20, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'd discourage you from requesting this. As you can see from the list of previous RMs at the top of this page, the move to "List of films notable for negative reception" failed in 2009 and 2013. This was also the most discussed alternative during the 2019 discussion. Beyond that, we just had another failed RM.LM2000 (talk) 12:16, 10 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to see some more direct to home DVD film

[edit]

I would like to see some more or director home DVD films, even though I already said that primary stuff from the studioVídeo Brinquedo Vídeo Brinquedo and other stuff 71.201.169.215 (talk) 01:11, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please refer to the inclusion criteria at the top of this Talk page, particularly the requirement for a "broad spectrum" of critics to describe it as "one of the worst films ever". I'm not familiar with Video Brinqueda, but as with the recent film Ryan's World the Movie: Titan Universe Adventure (discussed in the recent archives), direct-to-DVD movies marketed specifically to young children tend to not to be taken seriously by critics, who simply ignore them, making it hard to find enough reviews to argue for inclusion. (Before the advent of home video, such films were often shown as mid-week matinees and successful ones were frequently recycled, making them harder to ignore; hence Santa Claus Conquers the Martians made the cut.) I agree for some of the movie I would like to explore, but it's just a money 71.201.169.215 (talk) 22:40, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lowest rated movie on Letterboxd

[edit]

Currently the lowest rated movie on Letterboxd (and has been since they changed how ratings are weighted) is the 2009 film Dragonball Evolution, which I think makes it a contender for this list. Considering the film was widely panned, especially by Dragonball fans, I don't think it would be difficult to find plenty of people calling it one of the worst movies ever made. 2600:387:F:7C10:0:0:0:5 (talk) 22:30, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

...since [Letterboxd] changed how ratings are weighted. Perhaps, but Letterboxd a social-media site with ratings based primarily on user submissions rather than the required "broad spectrum of both casual and professional film critics", so it fails WP:UGC. As with WP:IMDB, their ratings are susceptible to vote brigading, a major problem with films based on popular preexisting IPs such as Dragonball. Letterboxd's description of the weighting changes—although a bit vague—implies that they've applied some magic algorithm to reduce the susceptibility of their ratings to vote brigading (likely by throwing out five-star and zero-star ratings that meet certain criteria), but the ratings remain user-based unless I've misunderstood something. See my response to this previous thread. Carguychris (talk) 12:55, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Carguychris So that's a no? Genabab (talk) 13:05, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No, it means that critical consensus must exist, which may be hard to establish for direct-to-video children's movies. Carguychris (talk) 13:09, 14 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
