Notability

[edit]

This is one of the major departments of the United Nations. Some of the importance of their work can be gauged from these sources. Each of the departments in United Nations Secretariat#Organization are worth a page. Clarification needed?

[edit]

Does the phrase “The UNDSS reports directly to the Secretary-General” seem ambiguous? To me it implies that the Secretary-General exercises day-to-day oversight of the department, when the reality is that it is overseen by the Undersecretary-General for Security and Safety (as clarified later in the header) with the Directors having control over the day-to-day operations.

I would propose clarifying the reporting structure, but what like to hear from other editors how best to do it. Horse.staple (talk) 08:28, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
