He is getting all of Iranians killed because of his plans to destroy the region. He is not a leader... he is a dictator. You need to fix this in the lead section first. 210.167.123 (talk) 17:26, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This discussion was closed per WP:not a forum, however, this is an edit request, and we do say that other people are or were dictators, for instance Bashar al-Assad. For Assad, we have five good sources. So my response to 210.167.123: if you can find WP:reliable sources, not just one but several, that all state that Khamenei is a dictator, we can add that word to his description. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. How about YOU do the research. A westerner supporting that monster is a sick person. Go ahead, ban me, you’re all communists. 96.249.208.36 (talk) 22:05, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If Khammenei "supported Iran's nuclear program for civilian use while issuing a fatwa forbidding the production of all kinds of weapons of mass destruction", then why is Iran enriching Uranium to weapons grade and constructing missiles to carry them? Nothing is said about this. --Firejack007 (talk) 15:58, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Firejack007, we Wikipedia editors should never describe our own analyses or syntheses of published material that reaches or implies a conclusion not stated by the sources. This principle is called WP:No original research. In order to write about this in the article about Khamenei, you'll need to find WP:reliable sources that question Khamenei's fatwa in the light of Iran's uranium enrichment program and missile construction. Not done: Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, is alive and remains in office. Recent reports of his death are false. A Reuters security source confirmed he is “alive and being continuously briefed” following Israeli strikes on June 13, 2025 Despite heightened speculation—especially due to his absence from public events and war-related tensions—there’s no credible evidence of his death. Israeli Defense Minister Katz noted that Khamenei “went deep underground” during the 12‑day conflict, making him unreachable, but did not confirm any harm Dahawk04 (talk) 16:23, 4 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi NabilLek! I added a sentence about the war. However, could you please point me to the part of the body of the article that describes this modernisation, so I can summarise it for the lead. Thank you! Lova Falk (talk) 13:30, 24 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, there’s many sources that talk about him being responsible for the modernisation of the Iranian army. Here are some:
This part, and the part about the Iran-Israel war, should come after the part where it says he supports the Palestinian cause, and prior to the part where it talks about the protests that have occurred during his leadership, because they are linked. NabilLek (talk) 22:27, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The first sentence should also be improved; the word “clergy” should lead to the article “Shia clergy” not “Clergy”, because he is a Shia cleric. NabilLek (talk) 22:29, 25 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi NabilLek, I fixed the wikilink to Shia clergy, but from your answer I understand we don't yet have text about Khamenei modernising the military force of Iran. If you write this text for the body of the article plus a sentence for the lead, I can add this text for you. Friendly, Lova Falk (talk) 16:50, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
