– Parenthetical qualifiers should be in sentence case unless they are proper nouns, per WP:NCDAB. I previously (years ago) made these moves boldly but they were reverted without explanation. Mdewman6 (talk) 07:39, 28 May 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 14:22, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I guess the argument was these weren't qualifiers/disambiguators in the Wikipedia sense, but part of the name, which arises from the naming convenetions of one of the big ACW unit compilation references (can't remember what specifically). But they made lots of distinctions between units with the same name formed at different times, most of which have been merged or otherwise had their titles modified for our purposes. Personally, I would argue for merging these with the units described at the base names, but the other side of the argument is that these are really different units, and therefore different topics, with the same name. I'm not seeing evidence that it's normally capitalized as such in sources. See for instance this, or at least the index entry. I'm finding so little for at least the 3rd (reorganized) that I wonder if it's even worth having a standalone page rather than merging over a few sentences to List of Michigan Civil War units.
