Noisecore (music genre)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Noisecore)

Noisecore is an extreme subgenre of hardcore punk characterized by chaotic structures, extreme distortion, blast beats, and noise-laden soundscapes. It often rejects conventional song formats, musical theory, and intelligible lyrics in favor of short, intense bursts of raw, aggressive sound. Noisecore is a genre totally different from Mathcore even people confuses the two genre.[3]

History

[edit]

Noisecore emerged in the mid-1980s as a fringe development of hardcore and early grindcore scenes. Pionneers of Noisecore are Seven Minutes of Nausea[4][5]and Meat Shits.[6] 7 Minutes Of Nausea released Does Abstinence Kills in 1986 and a Split Nuclear Area!!!! - We'll Just Have To Acclimatize Ourselves To The Post with Anal Cunt in 1989. Meat Shits introduced growl and blast beats to the genre. Anal Cunt and Fear of God pioneered Noisegrind, a more grind oriented [7]

Musical characteristics

[edit]

Noisecore is typically defined by extremely short tracks, often lasting only a few seconds. The music lacks conventional song structures such as verses or choruses, and the compositions are usually chaotic and improvisational. Vocals are commonly delivered as unintelligible screams, grunts, or bursts of noise, with no clear lyrical content. Guitars and bass are heavily distorted, and the drumming is often extremely fast and erratic, dominated by blast beats. Recordings are usually lo-fi, intentionally raw, and may include elements of tape hiss, clipping, and feedback to heighten the abrasive quality of the sound.[8]
