Space Symposium (formerly the National Space Symposium) is a conference for the global space community, staged by The Space Foundation. It is held each spring at The Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Overview
[edit]Space Symposium led by members of the international space community, and features presentations and panels about space developments and industry issues; an exhibit center showcasing the latest space technology; special event and awards presentations: targeted programs for specific groups, including young space professionals, the cyber community, educators, and students.[1]
Space Foundation Awards
[edit]The Space Foundation presents six annual awards at its Space Symposium: The General James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award; John L. "Jack" Swigert, Jr., Award for Space Exploration; Douglas S. Morrow Public Outreach Award; the Space Achievement Award; the Alan Shepard Technology in Education Award - in partnership with the Astronauts Memorial Foundation (AMF) and NASA; and the Athena Education Award.[2] Each year, the Space Foundation also inducts members into its Space Technology Hall of Fame.[3]
