List of Indian metropolitan areas by GDP
Appearance
(Redirected from Largest Indian cities by GDP)
The following is a list of metropolitan areas in India by their nominal gross domestic product (GDP) and their contribution to their respective states and union territories. The metropolitan area definition is based on the work by the Joint Research Center of the European Union, and are based on the satellite images of the built environment of the urban areas. It may include adjoining administrative units of the urban agglomeration.[dubious – discuss][1] The GDP of India as of 2022-23 is ₹269.5 trillion (US$3.43 trillion), and the top 50 cities contribute to nearly 40 percent of the national GDP.[2]
