Jonovan Smith (born 19 February 2001) is a Puerto Rican freestyle wrestler who competes in the 125 kg category.[1]
Career
[edit]Jonovan Smith represented Puerto Rico at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, finishing 14th in the men's freestyle 125 kg event. Smith placed 16th at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships.[2]
Smith won a silver medal at the 2024 Pan American Wrestling Championships in Acapulco and another silver at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador. He also claimed a bronze medal at the 2024 Pan American U23 Wrestling Championships in Rionegro.[3] Smith finished fifth at the 2023 Pan American Games.
He wrestled for Birmingham Community Charter High School in California[4] and Cerritos College in Norwalk, California.[5]
