Summary

Description
English: Wanganella (ship) 9576 tons. On 19 January 1947, when bound from Sydney to Wellington, ran aground on the southern end of Barretts Reef at the entrance to Wellington Harbour, New Zealand. 400 passengers were on board. For 18 days the vessel was held tight before being refloated. (Description supplied with photograph.).
