DescriptionHoudini swims river in scene from The man from beyond (cropped).JPG
Harry Houdini (1874-1926) swims river in scene from The Man from Beyond, 1921. The movie included Houdini swimming the Niagara falls, but it is not confirmed if the image shown here is indeed at the Niagara falls.
Notes: The hero battles icy floes to save the woman he loves. Houdini used the following promotional language to describe the scene: "SEE him fight to the death on the edge of the rocky cliff 800 feet above the yawning chasm! SEE him make his sensational swim of the rapids of Niagara! SEE him accomplish the unparalleled thrill of all times--the rescue of the girl on the very brink of Niagara Falls itself!"
