Object history
Deutsch: Das Rositzer Wappen charakterisiert recht eindeutig die Geschichte dieser Gemeinde. Daraus geht hervor, dass die Orte Rositz, Gorma und Fichtenhainichen ausschließlich Bauerndörfer waren, was mit den drei Pflugscharen im Schildfuß zum Ausdruck gebracht wird. Auch der Bergmann steht nicht ohne Grund als Sinnbild im Wappen. Er verkörpert den seit 1675 betriebenen Braunkohlenbergbau (Untertagebau), durch den Rositz seinen wirtschaftlichen Aufschwung erhalten hat. In der Ratssitzung vom 16.05.1941 teilte der Bürgermeister Reißenweber mit, dass der Reichsstatthalter mit Rücksicht auf den bevorstehenden Rathausneubau den Antrag für die Verleihung eines Wappens für Rositz nur ausnahmsweise genehmigte.
