English: Battle of Mu'tah - Strategic Map (629 AD)

This battle map illustrates the Battle of Mu'tah, fought in 629 AD near Mu'tah, present-day Jordan. It depicts the formations and movements of the Muslim army of Medina (3,000 troops) and the Byzantine-Ghassanid forces (estimated 100,000 troops). 

Map Details:🟢 Muslim Army (Medina): Organized into three divisions – left flank, right flank, and center, commanded by Zayd ibn Harithah, Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, and Abdullah ibn Rawahah. Khalid ibn al-Walid later assumed command.

🔴 Byzantine & Ghassanid Army: Deployed in a strong infantry center and cavalry flanks, outnumbering the Muslim forces. 

Battle Movements: Byzantine charge (red arrows) – Initial attack.

Muslim defensive formations (green arrows) – Resistance and leadership changes. Tactical retreat (curved arrows) – Khalid ibn al-Walid's strategic withdrawal to Medina. 

Terrain Features: Nearby settlements labeled, including Karak.

Roads and supply routes indicated. X marks show locations where Muslim commanders fell in battle.

Legend box explains unit symbols, troop colors, and arrows.
