WifiSkeleton (died May 5, 2025) was an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and former YouTuber. He first became known in the late 2010s as the commentary YouTuber "Cyrus" before later gaining popularity in the underground hip-hop scene in the early 2020s as part of the collective GothAngelz, as well as collaborating with Jaydes. Shortly before his death in 2025, he rose to further prominence via a track of his that went viral on TikTok titled "Nope Your [sic] Too Late I Already Died".
Background
[edit]WifiSkeleton first gained attention as a commentary YouTuber, inspired by LeafyIsHere, making videos under the alias "Cyrus" in the late 2010s to early 2020s before leaving the platform in early 2023. During the early 2020s he began releasing music initially under the alias "secretsaturdays""[1] then "FuxkCy"[2], and then under "*67"[3], and would become known for his sigilkore style.
In 2022, he rebranded himself as wifiskeleton after getting drunk and "pouring out his inner thoughts" over "Ghost Mountain type beats".[4] This would lead him to create the collective GothAngelz with keepsecrets, Witchbox, and Jaydes (formerly Mandy). He released his debut mixtape Lovefool in June 2024[5], which was followed by his second mixtape Suburban Daredevil in October of the same year.[6] The latter features the viral track "Nope Your Too Late I Already Died" with I Wanna Be a Jack-O-Lantern, a song that would gain WifiSkeleton further prominence via TikTok in 2025.[7][8]

Death
[edit]On May 5, 2025, it was reported that WifiSkeleton had died of an apparent drug overdose. His death was announced on his Discord server by Witchbox, one of his close friends and frequent collaborators, who stated that he and a few other people were "informed [that] morning" of his death and that he had been "found already cold when the cops and medics arrived". The previous night, WifiSkeleton had arranged a meet-up with some of his fans at a Miami gas station, and stated on an Instagram livestream shortly before this that he was "going to overdose tonight and kill [him]self", that if anyone wanted to kill him, meet him, or get a picture with him, it was "the time to do it". Immediately after the remark, he said he was "just joking". The remark also alludes to the death being a suicide.[9]
