Early life and education
[edit]Goyal was born and raised in New Delhi. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from BITS Pilani and later completed a Master’s degree in Development Economics from Princeton University.[7][8]

In 2003, he established Viya Home, a design studio that produces handmade furniture and decorative objects using traditional Indian craft techniques.[11] He established a workshop where artisans create metalwork for design pieces and interior projects under Vikram Goyal Studio. Viya (formerly Viya Home) produces everyday objects.[12] Goyal has participated in several international design fairs and exhibitions. In 2018, he showcased his work at The Sculpture Park at Madhavendra Palace, Nahargarh Fort, Jaipur.[13] In 2019, he was part of the 15 Years Retrospective at Bikaner House, New Delhi.[9] He debuted at the India Art Fair in 2023 and continued to exhibit in 2024, presenting sculptural furniture pieces such as Silken Passage, a 28-foot-long brass mural inspired by the Silk Route.[14][5]
In 2023, he collaborated with the Italian design gallery Nilufar to present his work at Salone del Mobile in Milan and PAD London, maintaining this association in 2024.[14] In December 2024, he partnered with British décor brand de Gournay to create a collection of hand-painted wallpapers, which premiered in India on 23 November 2024.[15][16] It was followed by a showcase at Design Miami on 4 December 2024, in collaboration with The Future Perfect.[14]
