There are several inter-university lacrosse competitions in Australia and New Zealand, including state-wide competitions in Victoria and New South Wales, and a national competition in New Zealand. UniSport runs the UniSport Nationals annually, which features a four-day tournament for Australian universities.
These competitions are generally Lacrosse Fives, a developed version of Intercrosse, which features four "runners" and a goalie on each side, in a non-contact, mixed-gender format.[1]
Players generally use men's sticks and do not wear protective gear. Goalies are required to wear a chest protector, a helmet, and gloves.
