The Dominant Society (TDS) is an American concept that indicates the ethnic group conglomerate that has the influence in America.

Evolution of TDS

[edit]

TDS has steadily expanded within the American society. Initially, in order to be TDS, you had to be a WASP (White Anglo Saxon Protestant) (this was under British rule). This excluded blacks, but also Irish (who were Catholic majority) as well as Scottish and Welsh people.[1]. As the Welsh, Scottish, and Irish assimilated into the WASP society by assisting to fight the British in the revolutionary war, TDS included everyone who was White, from the British Isles, and Protestant (while excluding the blacks because the blacks were viewed as property due to slavery being legal).

Despite this, there were other non black and non native groups in the US that were not seen as members of TDS (namely German immigrants and other Northern European immigrants). Their assistance in the war of 1812 as well as help from the Irish, enabled TDS to expand to essentially anyone that looked white and Northern European. Southern Europeans were still oppressed by society at this time, as they were disparaged as rude, unclean, and loud. Their Catholic religion was used against them in a way that the Irish were largely spared from at this time.

During WWI and WWII, Italians and other Southern Europeans were useful in assisting TDS in defeating Hitler and the Nazis (who were genociding millions of people in the Holocaust). Despite many Americans harboring anti sematic beliefs back then and there being governmental anti sematic policy (https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/the-united-states-and-the-holocaust), the desire to eliminate Hitler and the Nazis helped drastically reduce xenophobia against Jews and Southern Europeans. TDS now includes anyone who passes as European.

From 1944 to 2024, TDS and white were interchangeable terms. In America, the term, "People of Color" was used to describe anyone who was not white (Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Natives). In every federal presidential election from 2000 to 2020, TDS would vote slightly right wing in presidential elections and People of color would usually vote more democratic in these elections, leading to a competitive election.

In 2024 however, the voting patterns of Hispanics and Asians ended up resembling a more 50/50 split (just like white people)[2]. When also considering that Hispanics and Asians tend to live in democrat states, Hispanic and Asian immigrants there voted very similarly to the state at large, and when factoring precincts, very often Hispanic and Asian precincts of the city would vote more red than the white precincts of that area[2][3]. Because of this, many progressive activists would mock Latino and Asian Trump voters that got deported (as well as poor Trump voters whose Medicaid got cut) due to the, "Leopards didn't eat my face" meme that progressives like to use[4]. As a result, many (but not all) progressives stopped caring about activism for Hispanics and Asians more broadly, opting for slogans like, "FAFO" (Fuck Around and Find Out). On the flip side, there have been various Hispanics (such as Ryan Garcia) who are very common among the Hispanic community who have complained about Trump deporting Hispanics due to racism while Ryan Garcia holds similarly racist views towards black people and Muslims[5]

Due to a lot of Hispanic and Asian people (even the dark ones) in the US viewing African Americans similarly to how a lot of whites view them and due to many of them voting for Trump despite Trump's promise to end all immigration [6] (and Hispanics and Asians often being born abroad), you end up with left wing activists making fun of any migrant that gets deported if that migrant was a Trump voter in 2024 [7] while showing sympathy to those that voted against Trump[8]. But even among the Hispanics and Asians that voted against Trump, very rarely is their concern immigration as it's not even among the top 5 concerns for democrat voters [9]. Simultaneously, many Hispanics and Asians are darker skinned than even Sicilians, so the new term created to include the racial group with power within the United States was coined as TDS. Due to Trump's false contention the Haitians are eating pets[10] and due to their reliably left wing voting patterns[11], black immigrants are not part of TDS (even if they are immigrants like TDS).

Who is included in TDS and who isn't

[edit]

TDS make up 84% of the US population[12].

The following groups are considered TDS:

  1. Whites
  2. Hispanics
  3. Asians
  4. Multiracial identifying voters

The following groups are considered non TDS (Legal American Minority (LAM)):

  1. Blacks
  2. Native Americans
  3. Queers

If someone has a non racial overlap (ex: White and Queer), then they are not TDS.

LAMs, despite being classified as such, aren't ideologically identical. For example, 68% of blacks in the United States hold right wing views on the transgender issue in 2022 [13] despite voting 90% for democrats.
