The film was announced on May 8, 2024, with Roland Joffé attached to direct.[1] John Travolta, Mandy Patinkin, and Dermot Mulroney were announced as cast members on February 7, 2025.[2] Robert Carlyle and Jefferson White were announced as cast members on April 7, 2025.[3] Principal photography began in Winnipeg in mid-2025.[4][5]
