Early Life and Education
[edit]Abid Khan Atozai was born in Mardan Cantonment, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He belongs to the Atozai sub-clan of the Mandokhel lineage, under the broader Kakar Pashtun tribal confederation. The Atozai have a strong presence in Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Quetta, and also in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (particularly Khweshgi, Nowshera and Mardan), where they are known for their involvement in real estate, construction, and local politics..
He is a descendant of Sheikh Ahmad Baba of Khweshgi, a respected religious scholar whose shrine is still located in Nowshera.
Abid completed his higher education at the University of Peshawar, where he studied disciplines related to business, public leadership, and media.
Career
[edit]Business & Entrepreneurship
[edit]Abid Khan Atozai is the founder of Jaaidad.com, one of Pakistan’s first full-spectrum PropTech platforms. The company handles all aspects of real estate, including land acquisition, society development, marketing, and post-sale support. Since its inception, Jaaidad.com has delivered over 20 real estate projects across Mardan, Swabi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad[4].
He also manages Hajr Al Hubb Building Contracting LLC, a construction firm in Dubai, UAE, focused on delivering commercial and residential building solutions[5]
Public Service & Politics
[edit]From 2012 to 2023, Atozai served as Chairman of the Provincial Youth Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he actively advocated for civic participation, youth leadership, and climate change awareness. During his tenure, he led several policy dialogues and community-based campaigns.[6][7][8]
He was also elected as Nazim of Union Council Bagh-e-Iram in Mardan (2015–2019), where he oversaw development projects and public initiatives.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he appeared on various media platforms urging citizens to cooperate with government efforts to prevent the virus spread[9]
Anti-Terrorism Through Tourism
[edit]During a period of intense terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abid Khan worked with KP Tourism to promote peace through tourism and youth engagement. He organized landmark events from Provincial Youth assembly when he was the chairman, such as:
- GOZEST (Go Zestfully Pakistan) – A youth-driven tourism revival festival.
- Minority Youth Conference – To promote interfaith harmony and inclusivity.
These events aimed to counter violent extremism with positive cultural and tourism-based narratives, earning attention for their effectiveness in restoring community morale[10][11][12]

[edit]Abid Khan Atozai has established himself as a prominent voice on a wide range of issues including real estate innovation, urban development, digital governance, and economic reform. His insights are frequently featured across mainstream media platforms in Pakistan and the Gulf region.
Abid has appeared on numerous current affairs television shows, talk panels, and real estate forums, where he shares expert analysis on topics such as:
• Real estate trends and regulations
• Proptech adoption in South Asia and the Middle East
• The role of youth in digital transformation
• Crypto policy and digital currency frameworks in Pakistan
Abid has appeared on various news platforms, short videos, and discussion panels:[17][18]
Public Reception and Criticism
[edit]While Abid Khan Atozai has earned recognition for his entrepreneurial ventures and civic engagement, he has also faced criticism and scrutiny—a common reality for public figures with a visible media and political presence.
Some critics have questioned the effectiveness of youth assemblies in Pakistan, including the Provincial Youth Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which Abid chaired from 2012 to 2023. Detractors argue that such platforms, while well-intentioned, often lack policy impact due to limited government support or legislative authority. Supporters, however, credit Abid for expanding its reach, influence, and visibility in KP’s youth circles during his tenure.
As a former Nazim (local government head) of Union Council Bagh-e-Iram (2015–2019), Abid also encountered the routine political challenges and public expectations that come with local office. Some opponents critiqued his administration for being too ambitious in its goals given budgetary and bureaucratic limitations, though many local residents acknowledge the visible improvements in civic facilities, waste management, and youth involvement during his term.
Despite criticism, Abid continues to maintain a proactive stance, often addressing public feedback through media engagements.
