The American Legion Mountaineer Boys State (ALMBS), Mountaineer Boys State (MBS), is West Virginia’s charter of The American Legion's Boys State program founded in 1936.[4] ALMBS is based in Jackson's Mill.[5] The program has paused operations four times since its founding, taking a hiatus in 1943 and 1945 due to World War II rationing[6] and from 2020 to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[6]

Notable alumni of the program include: Jerry West and Bob Wise.
