Miss Eco International is an annual beauty pageant that brings together candidates from different countries and autonomous territories. It was founded in 2015 with the goals of promoting environmental tourism in Egypt, the host nation, and safeguarding the environment in each of the participating nations.[1] Alexie Brooks of the Philippines is the current Miss Eco International.
History
[edit]Originally called as Miss Eco Queen, the beauty competition Miss Eco International debuted in 2015. In an attempt to become more well-known, it rebranded itself as Miss Eco Universe in 2016 and attracted over fifty applicants. It rebranded itself as Miss Eco International in 2017, and for weeks, contestants vie for the title and crown.[2]
Miss Eco International is a global beauty contest that was started by the media production business "Belleza de Eco." Its primary goals are to promote tourism globally and raise awareness of the value of protecting the environment. It is set up as a globally recognized event that unites applicants from all communities and cultural backgrounds. Raising awareness of their nation's cultural heritage, environmental resources, and global commitment is the candidates' main objective.[3]
However, the competition's primary goal is to choose an ecotourism image that may represent the industry in marketing campaigns, promote environmental tourism globally, and show the public how to use environmental resources responsibly. Through the candidates' sharing of experiences, it also advances the idea of saving the earth, both environmentally and culturally. They also provide special attention to the mental, physical, and spiritual health of each candidate, who represents a nation.
About the contest
[edit]Awards
[edit]At Miss Eco International, various types of awards and titles are also presented to the candidates who stand out among the crowd for the organizers, their peers, the press, and the jury. Among the special prizes awarded are: Best National Costume, Best Eco Dress, Miss Eco People's Choice, Best in Evening Gown, Eco Top Model and more.[citation needed]
Crowns
[edit]For 2016, the crown of Miss Eco International was changed. The pageant website has not yet disclosed the type of gems used or the cost of the crown, although it was fashioned with valuable stones by the jewelry company "Boroqco." However, the sash that the contest winner wears has evolved over time.
Competition format
[edit]Miss Eco International is an engaging competition concept, which includes five interesting activities.[4]
Welcome Ceremony Press Conference: Contestants from all around the world are introduced, giving audiences the opportunity to meet and get to know them all.
Resort Wear: Wearing airy, light clothing that is ideal for tropical or vacation settings, contestants display their walking prowess and sense of flair.
Talent Show: To entertain and display their abilities, individuals or groups perform in front of judges and an audience by singing, dancing, acting, or in other performing arts.
The Eco Dress competition, which Eco International Pageants is introducing for the first time in a beauty pageant, is a crucial component of the preliminary competition. Here, competitors highlight the value of recycling by showcasing their inventiveness with outfits composed of recycled materials. The Evening Gown segment and individual self-introductions are also part of the preliminary competition.
Final Show: A compilation of storytelling and performances, featuring the National Costume Competition, in which competitors use their costumes to showcase the distinctiveness and character of their nation. Opening dances, the top 21 choices, Q&A sessions, the top 11 announcements, Continent special awards, and the crowning moment are all part of the program. Additionally, the judges committee and the president of Miss Eco International Organization conduct interviews with contestants during the Close Interview Session to evaluate their knowledge, attitudes, personalities, and thoughts.
