Los Chapitos, also known as "Los Menores" or "La Chapiza", is one of the bloodline factions fighting for control of the Sinaloa Cartel with other factions La Mayiza and Los Guanos. Currently they have control of Culiacan, Sinaloa. The faction is currently led by the sons of the notorious drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman which they are known as Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar (alias "El Chapito") and Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar (alias "Alfredillo") among others.[1]
History
[edit]Since the mid 2010s, the Guzman brothers began playing a bigger role within the Sinaloa Cartel mainly after the capture of their father known as Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman in 2016, which became the priority of the Department of Justice.[2]
On October 17, 2019, Ovidio Guzmán López was arrested after an arrest operation by SEDENA
