Hellenic American Union

History
[edit]The Hellenic American Union (HAU) is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1957.[1] Among its founders were Xenophon Zolotas, former Governor of the Bank of Greece, and former U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Clary Thompson.[2]
Activities
[edit]The HAU offers language courses and teacher training,[3] and serves as a testing center for the University of Michigan, Cambridge University and ETS.[4] It also hosts cultural events, including public lectures and exhibitions.[5]
Community Programs
[edit]The organization partners with NGOs such as ARSIS and The Smile of the Child.[6].
Governance
[edit]The HAU is governed by a Board of Directors, with Dr. Leonidas Tzonis elected as president in 2025.[8]
