Gerard F.X. "Guy" Geier II (born 1954) is an American architect and interior designer. He is the Managing Partner of FXCollaborative (formerly FXFOWLE Architects), a New York City-based architecture firm.[1] Geier served as the 2018 President of the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter (AIANY).[2]

Geier earned both his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Architecture from the University of Virginia.[1]

Career

Geier has over four decades of experience in architecture and interior design. He is the Managing Partner at FXCollaborative, where he leads the firm’s strategic direction and major projects.[1] He was elected 2018 President of AIA New York, the oldest and largest chapter of the American Institute of Architects.[2]

Notable projects

Geier has overseen several significant, sustainability-focused projects: SAP North America Headquarters Expansion, Newtown Square, PA: This project achieved LEED-NC Platinum Level Certification.[3] National Audubon Society Headquarters, New York, NY: The office at 225 Varick Street, designed by FXFOWLE, received LEED Platinum certification and achieved the highest point total for any commercial interior worldwide at the time.[4]

Geier is a Fellow of both the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) and the International Interior Design Association (FIIDA).[1]

Professional activities

Geier is active in professional advocacy, focusing on sustainability, diversity, and equity in the built environment.[1] He has served on advisory boards of several schools,[5] including University of Virginia School of Architecture.[1]
