Festus Adebayo[1] (born April 4, 1967, in Ilesa, Osun State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian Housing Advocate, lawyer and media entrepreneur. He is the Founder/Convener of the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS)[2] and Executive Director of the Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN).[3] [4]

In 2012, Adebayo accused Members of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of land grabbing live on Channels Television.[5]

Education and Professional Affiliations

Adebayo attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife[6] where he obtained Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Political Science and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Hons., and the University of Lagos, where he studied Masters in Business Administration, Economics. He is an honorary fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners [7] and holds memberships or affiliations with professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Architects, the Nigerian Institute of Building, and the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

Career

Adebayo[8] founded the Africa International Housing Show[9] 18 years ago [10]

He[11] is a member of federal government of Nigeria committees, including the National Housing Data Committee [12] and the Federal Government Committee on Institutional Reforms of Housing Agencies. He is also a member of the Federal Government of Nigeria Sustainability Committee on Housing, tasked with delivering two million houses across Nigeria’s 36 states. [13]

In 2015, Adebayo co-organized the Canada-Nigeria Housing Expo in Toronto and has participated in World Bank conferences on housing finance and land reforms.[14]

In 2024, the Legislature of Ontario, Canada, recognized Adebayo’s efforts as Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Logan Kanapathi said he is playing a role in strengthening economic ties and creating platforms for meaningful dialogue.

In December 2023, Adebayo[15] founded Housing TV Africa, a broadcast television station based in Abuja, Nigeria.

Adebayo's work, "Issues, Challenges, and Prospects in the Housing Sector: Operator’s Perspective,"[16] was published by the Central Bank of Nigeria in the Economic and Financial Review.
